Broke Down on I-75? Here's What to Do

3 min readBy Rolling Stone Auto Repair

I-75 runs right through Middle Georgia, and a breakdown on it is stressful — fast traffic, no shade, and a long way from the nearest shop. A few steps keep you safe and get you back on the road faster.

Get off the road and get visible

If you can, coast onto the right shoulder or an exit ramp, as far from traffic as possible. Turn on your hazards. If it's not safe to stay in the car on a busy shoulder, get out on the side away from traffic and stand back from the road.

Figure out what actually happened

A dead battery, a blown alternator, an overheating engine, and a flat tire all look like "the car stopped," but they need different fixes. A quick diagnosis tells you whether it's safe to limp to an exit or whether you should sit tight and get help to you.

Why roadside repair beats a long tow

Towing a car two hours back home gets expensive fast, and it leaves you without a vehicle for days. A mobile mechanic who can swap an alternator, jump and test a battery, or change a tire on the shoulder often gets you rolling again the same hour — that's a big part of what we do for travelers on I-75.

If you're stopped on the interstate near Warner Robins, call or text as soon as you're safe. The faster we know where you are, the faster we can be headed your way.
